I have a piece in Inside Higher Ed today, on the teaching of poetry and decolonizing the curriculum. It’s called “Petitions and the Power of Poetry/Students Should Be Taught New Kinds of Poetry.”

  1. I really enjoyed reading this, Eric. I shared it with my colleagues as well. Your comment, “teaching the material and convincing students that the material has relevance and value to them are, in practice, inseparable pedagogical goals” is spot-on. As always, great work!
